April 2008 - Recent Brigade News in Brief
On Saturday 12th April 2008 Tynemouth Rotary Club held their annual celebration at the Brigade Watch House. The night was a great success, enjoyed by all, and the Brigade is very grateful for its excellent relationship with the local rotary organisations.
On Saturday 19th April 2008 Brigade members took part in North Tyneside
Council's 'Big Spring Clean'. Over a two hour period fifteen people helped pick
litter from the area around Tynemouth Priory and King Edward's Bay. The Brigade
used their cliff rescue equipment to safely clean the cliffs surrounding the
Bay. In all, 24 bags of rubbish were collected along with 2 pallets, a lobster
pot and a fish box! During the clean, numerous members of the public expressed
their encouragement and thanks for the efforts of those involved in the clean.
A selection of pictures is shown below of the clean in progress.
